Two-Layer Structure Packaging
For standard wet wipe products, two-layer structures such as OPP/PE or OPP/PET provide a more cost-effective packaging solution with softer and more flexible material performance. This structure is commonly used for everyday cleaning wipes and basic wet wipe applications where transportation conditions and liquid content are relatively moderate.
In addition to lower material costs, two-layer packaging offers good machinability and a softer hand feel, making it suitable for high-volume consumer products. Matte OPP creates a softer and more delicate appearance, which is especially popular for baby care and personal care wet wipes.
For wet wipes with high liquid content, alcohol-based formulas, or products requiring long-distance transportation, three-layer structures such as PET/OPP/PE or PET/PET/PE provide significantly stronger barrier performance, more stable heat sealing, and better heat resistance. These advantages help reduce leakage risk and minimize moisture loss during storage and shipping.
Compared with two-layer structures, three-layer packaging also offers better rigidity and a more premium appearance. Glossy PET delivers higher transparency, gloss, and structural strength, making it more suitable for functional wipes, disinfecting wipes, and household cleaning products.
Although three-layer structures come with a higher unit cost, they can effectively reduce product returns, leakage problems, and rework, ultimately lowering the overall operational cost in the long run. For brands that prioritize product stability, transportation safety, and premium packaging quality, three-layer structures are generally the more reliable choice.
